Breck Eisner, Director of The Last Witch Hunter, and Mac Carter, the 2nd Unit Director of the film, selected four brilliant deviations to win The Last Witch Hunter Contest! In this contest, deviants were challenged to illustrate an exclusive script excerpt from the movie. The two judges reviewed all of the colorful and action-packed artwork in the semi-finalists and selected the four pieces that stood out above the rest. Now, these artists will have the chance to be flown to New York City to attend a special screening of The Last Witch Hunter and have a meet-and-greet with Breck Eisner and Vin Diesel!
A trip for two to New York and two tickets to attend a special screening of the movie on October 13th with the opportunity to meet Vin Diesel and Breck Eisner!
In The Last Witch Hunter Contest, artists were challenged to reach into the depths of their imaginations and create illustrations based on the exclusive script excerpts provided. DeviantArt judges braved flaming cave fights and witches channeling the elements to find entries that bring a new and original look to Kaulder’s ongoing battle and the exclusive script excerpts from the film.
The semi-finalists now go to Breck Eisner, Director of The Last Witch Hunter, and Mac Carter, 2nd Unit Director of the film for final judging. Four grand-prize winners will get the chance to be flown to New York for a special screening of The Last Witch Hunter and will have the opportunity to have a meet-and-greet with Breck Eisner and Vin Diesel!
A few months ago, we released Watch Recommendations to new deviants -- a feature that suggests deviants to watch for those who have just joined DeviantArt. The aim being to match new deviants with active deviants -- ones who represent the depth and breadth of all DeviantArt.com has to offer.
Starting today, we’re adding deviant recommendations to your watch.
The new Watch Recommendations will display occasionally in your watch, suggesting deviants you might be interested in following. Deviants who appear as recommendations include people who have proven to be friendly and engaging in the community, as well as deviants who have reached a standard of artistic excellence.
If you find a deviant that you’re not interested in, simply click the “x” button and you won’t see that deviant again.
The Watch Recommendations feature is experimental, and we’ll be continuously improving the way it displays and how it selects deviants. Eventually, we’ll make recommendations more personalized to you, so you can discover new artists that are relevant to your interests. Until then, we’d love to hear your feedback on how we can improve this feature.
In the Sapporo CANvas Contest, we challenged you to combine the past and present to reimagine the essence of Sapporo! Deviants, inspired by the Sapporo can, created amazing artwork combining elements of both classic and modern Japan. With numerous beautiful entries highlighting Japan’s rich history, the judges had a hard time picking only three pieces that turned the Sapporo can and/or its elements into a work of art. It wasn’t easy, but after some deliberation, the Sapporo Marketing team was able to decide on the three winners that perfectly embody the essence of Sapporo.
Congratulations, winners, and thank you to everyone who entered!
