A FEW WORDS ABOUT GROUPS!

Home to over 11 million members and 100 million deviations, deviantART is a big place and our community continues to grow by leaps and bounds. Each day we gain 10,000 new deviants and 100,000 new deviations. Being part of the world's largest art community is an awesome feeling, but it's not all about the numbers.

Think of walking through Times Square in New York City during the holiday season. The air is filled with joy and excitement, hustle and bustle abounds, but sometimes the lights from Broadway are too bright and overpowering, and the crowd of people around you makes it hard to stop and talk with an old friend.

With such a vast community, deviantART can, at times, be intimidating to both newbies and long-time deviants.

But what if we could provide a respite from the hustle and bustle? What if we told you there will soon be a way to build a home that is safe and secure, houses all the things you love, and is frequented by the people that matter to you most. Sound good? We thought so ...

Groups will make deviantART feel smaller -- more intimate -- reminiscent of the site's early days when staff members were able to comment on and provide feedback for nearly every submitted deviation. Existing deviants will be able to connect more easily with deviants who share similar appreciation for art, have similar hobbies, or zip codes. New deviants will find that Groups make deviantART more accessible and inviting; staying informed and connected to the stuff that you love couldn't be easier.

No more feeling lost in the shuffle. With Groups you can find a home, or build one, and invite all of your favorite people inside.

LAUNCH IS COMING SOON -- YES, REALLY!

Aside from #hq, you've likely noticed a handful of other groups that are currently live and active on the site. These groups are part of our testing process and are priceless when it comes trying out new features, reporting bugs, and providing general feedback.

Based on such feedback, the Devious Technology team has just rolled out a bunch of new updates that will help makes Groups better for all -- which brings us one step closer to their actual launch. What could those updates include? See below!
