Dr Pepper Photo Op in NYC Wrap-Up!Over the weekend, $Heidi, $danlev, and I headed from Los Angeles to New York City for the Dr Pepper Photo Op. ~reyjdesigns placed first in the How Do You Drink Dr Pepper? Contest and, as our winner, his work was recreated as a mural in Brooklyn. We flew him and his cousin from Florida to NYC to unveil the masterpiece and invited all deviants to come celebrate along the way! Our first day in New York was filled with interesting TSA agents, interviews at 39,000 feet, traffic jams, and delicious coffee from Dunkin' Donuts. We briefly scoped out the mural, to prepare for the upcoming photo op, and were thrilled to see people walking by and admiring the work! Dr Pepper Photo Op in NYC Wrap-Up! by #hq

Adios Miami! Until the next devMEET...Miami. Home to warm weather in winter, awesome street art, and the biggest art fair in the United States, Art Basel Miami Beach. Oh, and deviants! Lots and lots of amazing deviants. This past weekend people traveled from far and wide to attend the Art Basel Miami Beach contemporary art show, and $Heidi, `aunnyd, $shyree2, $codenamepanther, and `draweverywhere were no exception. With the incredible energy this vibrant art event brings, we thought what better time to host our first-ever Miami deviantMEET?
Deviants from the greater Miami area came together (almost 150 in total!) to celebrate and support their fellow peers at the Multiversal Miami group art show in the downtown district of Wynwood. Ov Adios Miami! Until the next devMEET... by `aunnyd

Update on Share Links from deviantARTA few weeks back we released Share buttons on deviation pages, making it easier for our visitors to express interest in different deviations while on Facebook, Twitter, Reddit and Digg. While our intentions were good and many deviants were glad to finally see basic sharing features implemented on deviation pages, we had a lot of feedback from the community indicating concern regarding facilitating the promotion of artwork outside of the confines of the deviantART community. For some, this is because they feel as if the people on Facebook, Twitter, Reddit and Digg are those who turn around and end up stealing their art; whereas the folks at deviantART are more respectful of these issues. Conceptually, we understand where you're coming from. Here's what we'd like to propose. When posting to deviantART, you're given an option regarding Sharing; enable or disable.
If left ENABLED, you have the nice clean options for othe Update on Share Links from deviantART by #hq

Share Links: encourage, discourage, members only UPDATED: MANAGE DEVIATIONS By popular request, we've implemented the ability to change the Share status of multiple deviations at once. To do so, simply visit Manage Deviations, select the deviations you'd like to update, and click the 'More actions...' drop-down. You're set!
ENCOURAGE, DISCOURAGE, & DEVIANTART MEMBERS ONLY You were right. After much deliberation, with both staff members and community members, we've decided to allow three options in regards to our Share links on deviation pages: encourage, discourage, and deviantART members only.
Encourage ... allow comments and Share links
Discourage ... allow comments, but disable Share links

Groupie news, conversion updates, and MOAR! Groupies become Watchers! Taking into account deviant feedback, and after much deliberation, we've decided to abandon the Groupies member class and eliminate all Groupie/Watcher ambiguity. Over the course of the last few weeks, we learned that many deviants were confused about the role and purpose of Groupies. To make the Groups platform all the easier to understand, we've decided that simplicity is the best model. To compensate for Groupies being merged with Watchers, we're upping the group administrative member limit to 99.
Anyone who is a current Groupie will automatically be converted to a Watcher.
If you'd like to be a contributing member of a group, you'll need to re-apply with the specific group(s).
If you don't want to contribute and would rather passively keep track of what's happening in your favorite group(s), being a Wat Groupie news, conversion updates, and MOAR! by #hq

Coming Soon: A Unified Submission Process! We're always trying to improve the deviantART member experience. While many of our site upgrades are taken directly from community feedback, every once in a while we (administrators) need to trust our instincts. For many years, our gut was telling us that submitting content to deviantART was becoming bloated. Not only was it confusing for new deviants, but we found that there was redundancy in the systems as well as the content. We needed a fix. We made a fix. And it's coming soon!
A Unified Submission Process There will soon be a single system to submit all content. What's that mean? Well, all new content (including deviations, journals, group blogs, and news articles) will be be submitted from a single page. So, you will have a single publishing platform, and you will be able to decide where it should be posted -- whether in your journals, news, or gallery. This page will have a snazzy WYSIWYG editor, allowing for rich editing of your posts.
