While warm summer is probably my favorite season, I have a soft spot for fall.  It's a colorful season full of reds, oranges, and other fiery colors. It means cuddling with blankets, wearing cute scarves, and sipping warm cups of tea.

But mostly I love fall because it reminds me of one of my favorite childhood fairy tales called, "The Leaf in the Shape of a Key" by Joan Aiken. It's about boy who rides his bike beneath trees in fall, catching all shapes and colors of leaves. The last leaf is in the shape of a key, and it opens a door in the base of a tree.

I rode my bike under a lot of trees as a kid hoping to recreate the magic, but unfortunately, it's a little less whimsical when you live in a neighborhood of pine trees.

Still, fall is a time of nostalgia for me and the photograph “Skin and Bones” by Thechildrensang really keyed into my memories.

Autumn is my second-favorite season (my favorite is winter). Autumn means admiring the beauty of the Earth before she turns to a new, blank, white page.

Autumn means a lot to me. You can even say my life. The only season I wait with soo much anticipation. It reminds me of a dream I once had a long time ago. A dream that I cherish with all of my heart. My drawing "Waiting for you" is a fragment of that dream. I love drawing Autumn-y stuff because that's how much I love Autumn. And I also love every drawing,picture,craft that has to do with it. In the far future I'm planning to move to a place with hills and Autumn trees just like the ones in my dreams >.<

I have lived where there was no fall and I missed it. The changing of the seasons, the thoughts of warm sweaters and crisp air. To walk in the woods and listen to the rustling of the dried leaves in the wind. The colors so vivid on the maple leaves. I find the change reminds me of time passing and to remember to breath the air and enjoy life. We lost a maple tree to age and it made me so sad that I welded one of steel and copper to replace it. I found myself welding trees and birds and lights with leaves. It makes me happy to see them and not have to rake them.

The reason I started reading this article was because it said "Autumn". Every time I see that word, it just makes me happy because I know I can except lots of warm and cozy colours. Often when autumn is coming close I'm firstly thinking of rainy, gray and boring days - but there is so much more to it! Suddenly all the leaves changes colours and makes the forest look like it's on fire.
And of course, the reason to by a new scarf and use ear-cushions (Or whatever they're called), and be all cozy in the sofa with a gigantic cup of tea.

My latest favorites with the interpretation autumn:

And, I realized my pic is up there (:heart:), which made me really happy! I was just like scrolling to see all the autumnish pictures, when I realized I just saw one of my own... xD
And oh my gosh, this comment became really long... xD

I've always loved fall because of the leaves, less humidity, and the beautiful sky on a clear day. It reminds me of when I was younger. :heart:

This season will always be special to me due to a little stray who, at the time we had never seen before. Long story short, two years ago in October she actually meowed to get inside our house.:XD: In honor of the season she was found, I named her Autumn.:meow:

It's not the best, but I do love the season and I have one picture to share.

I missed the questions.>_<

What does the fall season remind you of?
Life or Liveliness. More people are out and about, enjoying the season, smiling, children playing up and down the neighborhood. Seeing people happy and enjoying life and the good weather makes me happy and often gives me a sense of peace. Don't know why but it does.^^;

Have you seen any great deviations of autumn?
The ones here, actually.^^;
Thanks to this, I found a beautiful rose picture I intend to buy a print of for my Grandmother when I get the money.:w00t:

I always imagined a place like El Salvador to have a lot of lush, tropical trees which can be beautiful in their own way, especially ones that develop exotic tropical flowers and palm trees too 8-) I feel lucky that I live in a climate that supports tropical plants actually even though it does cost us a proper Autumn. However most of Australian landscapes and gardens are dominated by Eucalyptus trees which I have always though are one of the uglist tree types - their leaves are very desaturated green, sometimes even grey or brown because of the oils inside them. They have loose messy bark that peels off and dangles everywhere and they drop leaves all year round too rather than just at Autumn :doh: But people grow tjem because they're natives to this country and thus are the easiest to grow and look after - but I'd rather a pretty garden than a low-maintenance ugly one ;p

The problem is that there is not so many "green areas" here, and the ones that last are being demolished and transformed into buildings and residences. That's a BAD thing about this. And considering the lack of "varied weather" here, make this country a "not so beautifull" one to apreciatte. :XD: The only thing i am very proud of are our beaches, and the mountains that last. But there is not so many changes in the weather, always the same! :XD:

Yeah, that's the price of development anywhere - the trees must go down so the buildings can go up. It's no so bad though if they bother to plant trees along streets and put gardens in roundabouts etc. Even urbanized areas can look beautiful with some greenery added in, it all depends on how much the government is willing to spend :hmm: Problem is they often don't bother maintain it after it's done. I recently saw a local road have tons of trees planted all along it. But afterwards some of them died, others where ripped out by teenage vandals with nothing better to do :X

I wouldn't mind some stable consistent weather though. But yes - many tropical locations have some cool beaches :relax:

I think there are two similar sentences in the journal about the boy finding the key-shaped leaf ;)

Autumn is probably my favourite season. Sadly I can't say because of the colours since deciduous trees aren't very popular in Australia - being harder to get successfully established into the ground over the scorching Summer months. But occasionally I see a Japanese maple fire up its colours on someone's lawn (or at least my bonsai one does ;p) But I like the season because it's the only time of the year here where temperatures are comfortable and mild. Summer's too hot, Winter's too cold, Spring is all over the place :doh:

And nice features, I have always said if I were to visit Canada or Europe I would do it in Autumn or Winter, both offer experiences at those times of the year I have never seen :saddummy:
