Hai guyz!

Who likes the environment?Personally, I am a fan of nature. I enjoy long walks on the beach and climbing trees in the forest. I’d like to preserve our earth so future generations can experience that same freefalling sensation when you reach for a branch that wasn’t quite as sturdy as you first imagined. Good times, friends.
Art for a good cause. As the world’s largest art based website, who better to host a climate art contest than deviantART? That’s why the good folks at #
CoolClimate have chosen deviantART as the host for their 2010 CoolClimate Art Contest!

How does it work?
First, head over to #
CoolClimate and join the group.

Next, submit a work of art to #
CoolClimate that explores our relationship with the climate. From clean energy jobs to pollution-free oceans – the subject choice is yours! Any visual medium is accepted, from photography, to digital works, to traditionally created masterpieces. All we ask is that it be a static image, and one that truly encompasses how you feel about the current state or future of the environment that we share.
Be sure to submit to the appropriate Gallery based on where you have established residency, either the U.S. or anywhere else International.
Yes! This contest is accepting international entries.

Once you’ve submitted your piece(s), check out the other works in the Gallery. Your comments and favorites will be considered by our esteemed panel of judges!
Did you say esteemed judges?!Why yes! Check out this contest’s
amazing panel of judges:
Mel Chin (artist)

Philippe Cousteau (ecologist)

Agnes Gund (collector & philanthropist)

Van Jones (environmental activist)

David Ross (curator)

Carrie Mae Weems (artist)

Jackson Browne (musician) and Dianna Cohen (artist)

Chevy Chase (Comedian) and Jayni Chase (philanthropist)
I’m so excited! But Ayame, what can art really do for the environment?Historically, the creative community has always helped to create new and expanded visions of possibility during difficult times and we look forward to the artist’s vision for a cool and sustainable future.
More details plz!Submissions are now open and will close on August 23, 2010 at 11:59:59 PM PT. This contest is open to any deviant worldwide, and entrants must be 18 years or older to participate. The age restriction is in place to avoid possible legal problems as this contest progresses, not because those under this age don't care about the environment or can do nothing to help. If you are under the age of 18, you can still tell your friends about this contest and spread the word!
Check out all the official rules at the #
CoolClimate group page.
Shoutouts!A huge thanks to $
makepictures, who has invested countless hours into the success of this project. But we all know he’s doing it in hopes of meeting his idol, Jackson Browne, even though Browne isn’t as famous as the great Chevy Chase. Am I right or am I right?
