About a month ago we announced Sta.sh and Sta.sh Writer -- not as a hot topic, but we soft-launched to the hq membership and to the more savvy deviants who follow along when we release things.

Development of both products has never stopped and will continue in an ongoing manner moving forward.

Below, I've outlined a change log that tracks recent Sta.sh progress and also identified Known Issues that we're aware of and actively working on.

Change Log

You now have the option to include/exclude your journal from the Journal Portal, and from your Journal Tab's new "Featured" section.

The Journal Portal in the footer of deviantART now pulls from the Journals category but excludes all "Personal" posts. This means, you must categorize your Journal on submission for it to even qualify to appear in the footer of dA. This has substantially increased the quality of posts that appear there.

We were having some issues editing old articles within Groups, and those bugs have been fixed.

Sta.sh Writer now has an improved Preview mode from the old Journal writing system so you can see your post, CSS, avatars, images, etc. exactly as they're going to appear once published.

Various user interface changes are now live and have improved the quality of Sta.sh substantially. Clicking files in Sta.sh shows you the files - it no longer forces the Edit & Submit mode.

Countless bug fixes should have Sta.sh and Sta.sh Writer functioning quite smoothly. We have all greatly benefitted from the excellent feedback that is making this product much stronger by the day!

Known Issues:

We have been developing very exciting functionality for Sta.sh Writer that will permit you to Write and then publish to anywhere you have access to post. This means you can Write an entry and publish to your Journal on your profile, and to a Group at the same time. Or optionally you can publish to all of the Groups you're a deviant of and have access to. This should solve many redundancies in the deviantART system these days where one must copy and paste in many locations in order to get the word out.

Sta.sh's file organization interface makes it tedious to access certain functions, such as Delete. A new interface has been designed that simplifies all core actions, and will be made live soon.

Sta.sh Writer currently defaults to open the most recently edited Draft. We've decided to always open a brand new file, and create a "File" menu at the top consisting of: New, Open Draft (with Quick Draft Links), Save, Save & Exit

Sta.sh Writer currently cannot access Group Skins (only the skins installed individually by deviants). We will soon provide functionality giving you the ability to use any skin you'd otherwise have access to anywhere you want. Our reasoning is, if you have access to the skin you could easily cut and paste it anyway so we may as well make this easier to address the needs here.

Group Journals are considered "Personal" -- they will likely be re-categorized in the tree and separated from Personal.

Old systems like the original editor for Journals, and the original editor for Group Journals (formerly Blogs) don't permit you to submit a Journal to a category within the Journal Portal. Because of this, all Group Journals are currently excluded from the footer of deviantART where they would otherwise gain a lot more exposure. This will be fixed shortly.

Thank you!

Community feedback is essential for successful product releases.  Please feel free to leave comments, questions, and suggestions in this journal.  Our Product team will be actively reading and reviewing all feedback in an effort to deliver Sta.sh and Sta.sh Writer in forms best suited to the deviantART community.
